It seems timely that I should comment on some current affairs.
We, of course, are now being threatened with a new "energy/climate" bill which an EPA source has admitted will do "NOTHING" to curb global warming. Anyone who has paid attention to our world's weather patterns will know that we are at or near the end of a warming cycle and will shortly be realizing a cool down. (Can any one say 'duh'?)
Second is the National Health Service being considered for the USA. It comes complete with health-care rationing, especially for the elderly, infirm and very young; euthanasia (periodic death-panels to determine your suitability for care); unlimited funding for abortion (Whatever happened to "abortion should be rare and declining in frequency, etc."); the death of private insurers (How can one compete with they who make the rules?). All of his coming despite vast opposition by the American people. (No, the media or the administration are not telling the truth when they claim that we want this.) While improvement to medical care and it's availability is desired, let me tell you, Honey, THIS AIN'T IT!
Let's get off our duffs and write, call, mail, email. You might also remind them that election day is just around the corner.
Couldn't we have some wisdom put into practice here?

It's been too long, I know, but believe it or not, I felt I had nothing to say?!!!
Now, though, I sense a need in myself and others. So, I issue an invite to those who might perchance read these posts. To those who have been purposely driven out because of your rejection of PDL and other un-biblical aberrations, join me, and others, to discuss, ponder and pray.
I offer a couple of quotes for your consideration today. More later.
"The sheep are being gradually led away from the Bible, and led to the strange fire of the teachings of men."
"While it is commendable that the church is moved with compassion to feed the poor, the church, itself, is not eating to well. The pendulum of sound doctrine and solid food has swung away, and it doesn't show any sings of returning in the near future." (both quotes: Scott MacIntyre--Wood and Steel Ministries.

So, here I am, thinking again about how I came to be where I am today, at least spiritually.
Raised mainline Am. Baptist; born-again in a charismatic Baptist church; ordained an elder/pastor in a full-gospel pentecostal fellowship; served in a small A.G. pentecostal NA mission fellowship on the res.; then, after much spiritual warfare/turmoil/doubt/soul-searching and frustration, founded an independent fellowship/house assembly with one over arching desire: to build a Biblical fellowship, faithful to the Lord and to His Word in every way (and what an eye-opener this has been).
Now, Father, where would you have us and what would you have us to do? You, who knows me better than any; who knows my desire and love to teach and preach, plant the seeds and watch them grow; what is the next thing for us, Lord? In Jesus Name, Amen!!

Lord, help us to know how near You are! RO

"he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" Phil. 1:6
More and more and more I am convinced that we who call ourselves 'believers' and 'followers of Jesus Christ' must absolutely be Bereans, especially today.

I've been doing much study and research in an effort to know and understand what is being foisted on the body of Christ today as 'truth' when the truth is far from it. The Emergent or Emerging Church; Contemplative Prayer/mysticism & Yoga which have roots in eastern religion; rejection of many doctrines or teachings of Scripture on which our faith hinges; racing back to Rome and rejecting all that was accomplished by the Reformation (in the name of unity or ecumenism, of course). Brian MacLaren, and others denying that there is "One Way" to the Father, which means, then, that we can do pretty much what we want; follow whichever god or gods because the end is, after all, the same destination, right? No where in the Word do I find any mention of all this 'stuff' except as a warning that such would come and we should NOT receive it!! (In the last days, false teachers will come, deceiving many)

Jesus said it was good that he ascend to the Father so the Comforter, Holy Spirit, could come and dwell in us. He said that we would be baptized by/in the Holy Spirit and with FIRE. Some may think that fire stands for the power we'd have but a closer examination shows that the fire is consuming, sent to remove the dross; burn the chaff; to get rid of all that is in me/us that is abhorrent to God so that we might be ready to stand before Him, pure, complete, finished.

Please all who read this, seek Him first according to His Holy Word. Don't be trapped and deceived by all you hear. TEST EVERYTHING, whether it is from God

I'm chastised by my ladies because it has been over 30 days since I wrote. Sorry!! I've been in some turmoil lately so that anything I might have written would have been a cacophony; just so much noise.
I've been contemplating the Ancient Words that are being so willfully ignored in the body of Christ today and the seeming attempt to make our faith/belief system pleasing and non-threatening to the world by incorporating much of what the world desires into the church. ("What do we need to do to get you to come to our church?" they ask.) I'm not referring to preferences in worship style but in the blatant rejection of the core of our faith and the acceptance of the practice of sin, even the encouragement and approval of sin without grief??!! No grief, but pride instead & those who persist in this are calling evil, good and good, evil and doing so boastfully.
Many are rejecting all the painful steps taken during the Reformation; scurrying back to the bondage of popery; ignoring immorality. Have we lost our way? Have we lost our ability to think? Have we finally forgotten those who have died by the untold thousands for the cause of Christ and the freedom to worship Him according to the scriptures? Be reminded that He is to INCREASE, we to become less. We live to bless and serve Him, our Master!
Please, all of you who claim Jesus as Lord, get into Him--the Word--daily for the renewing we so desperately need.
In Him, we live and have our being. RO

Just pondering, again, the relationship I have with the Father. Been reading and contemplating the M. Phillips book, Make Me Like Jesus! What a prayer that is and not to be entered into lightly. Also been studying how God's laws guide our lives. Finally been realizing that the law is there to minister to my need. What need is that? The need to convict me when I do that which is wrong or fail to endeavor to do that which is right and good. Humbling, ain't it?

Waiting. That's my middle name, now. Waiting--for healing; for God's direction for the next thing He's doing in my life; in the ministry He's called us to. If finances were not a concern, then going and doing would be simply a matter of where and when. C. admits to having no interest in that which is of interest to me so that definitely places a bit of a crimp in the where and when.
Now, with parents in need of care, things become even more complicated. Prayers go up for N's security while we await I's recovery from surgery scheduled for next week. Big thanks to family on the front-lines back east since we can't be there to help. Love you all a lot.
